The Weekly Atticus

This Week at Atticus Review

A recap of the week's writing at Atticus Review. Intro by Christopher Linforth.

Final selections are currently underway for our special Internet-themed issue, which we'll launch in about three weeks! The staff have been impressed by the depth of the submissions and had a very tough time deciding on final pieces. Stay tuned for our announcement about our next issue and our fiction contest!

For now, enjoy Issue One or go back and explore our archives. We have over 1600 writers' work dating back over ten years. Perhaps check out Roxane Gay's flash "I Did Not Marry for Love" or Tom McAllister's CNF piece "2013" or Vanessa Blakeslee's poem "The Choice." You can also browse the books of past Atticus writers and staff. Perhaps you'll be intrigued by the books of Sarah Lippmann or Kim Magowan or Michael Meyerhofer or Nick Flynn.Meanwhile, we have some news from Atticus Books. Atticus is committed to publishing four books in 2023: (1) a debut novel, our first poetry collection, a hybrid memoir/novella, and a memoir of creative nonfiction. Additionally, Atticus Books & Music is keen on carrying graphic novels and is very interested in ordering books by independent literary presses. Please contact Dan directly.

Until next week, thanks so much for reading. Christopher LinforthEditor-in-Chief

LIKE A SPARK TO DARKNESSbyBecca Hall"Maybe it was the war that made it feel as if everything was changing, intensifying, that the moment of crux might come at any time. A feeling like autumn, despite the daffodils growing so hopefully in the yard."
