New Work in Issue Four

Hey, do you need something new to read? Yes, of course you do, we all know that, and Atticus Review is here to help.In our first issue of 2023, we have fresh poetry, mixed media and video poetry, flash fiction, regular fiction, creative nonfiction (in all varieties), and, last but not least, the winners and runners-up of our 2022 Flash Fiction Contest!

I don't have much more to add other than that this is a fantastic issue and I had a blast (and some mild back pain) curating all the brilliant work our editors and readers selected for this issue. Speaking of curation, did you know it shares a root with care? I think about that a lot, because editors wouldn't be in this line of work if we didn't care (I mean that literally, they get fired if they don't). I guess I did have something more to add, but the gist of it all is that I really hope you enjoy reading the work we have in this issue. Trust me, it's worth your curiosity (another word that has that same root). In the meantime, I hope you keep writing. The world needs it.

Peace,Keene ShortEditor-in-Chief

BOOK REVIEW

Flash Magic: Book Review of Shena McAuliffe’s WE ARE A TEEMING WILDERNESS

by Jill Stukenberg

"Hands, eyes, feet, scalps, hearts, and zygotes appear in and out of the stories, flashing parts of humans that are all the more living and corporal on the page."
